Malaga Economy
The most important industrial sectors in Malaga are the agriculture and the tourism industry. Malaga airport handles almost 14 million passengers per year, and has become the fourth busiest airport in Spain (the main Costa del Sol airport). In addition, in 2008 came into service the high-speed train AVE (Alta Velocidad Española). This train service will be able to take people from Malaga to Madrid (and vice versa) in less than 3 hours (it can take up to 6 hours by car, depending on the traffic). Malaga also has an Ikea store. it was inaugurated on 30th October 2007 and is located just 2 minutes away from Malaga airport.
