THE ROMAN THEATRE of MALAGA

The Roman theatre in Malaga was built in the beginning of the 1st century  A.D. It wasn't discovered until 1951. They say that it was constructed during the time of Augusto and used until the 3rd century and not only like s theater but also for political aims. Today it's one of the fundamental element in the historical legacy of Malaga. It's located in very interesting surroundings: between the Alcazaba, the Customs buildings, Plaza de la Merced and the Picasso Museum.

RIVER GUADALMEDINA

Hello! Look at this pictures of the river which crosses Calle Alameda Prinsipal about which I already mentioned in the previous posts. This river is very strange: in summer there is practically no water, grass is growing and people walking with their dogs and youngsters use it for training on the rollers. But from September with the beginning of  raining this river gets water and sometimes looks very full and fast. There can be  a lot of fis h from time to  time but water changes its colour and content and sometimes fish disappeares. The end of the river is in the sea.

ROAD TO MALAGA

Hello! I want to show you the road from Granada to Malaga. You can use one of the very comfortable buses and see all the pictures on your way for less than 45 minutes.

Sunday, January 6, 2013

Hello! Yesterday it was a great holyday for the kids - Reyes Magos. A huge procession with horses and magos (wizards) spreading candies around themselves. All the children would like to get candies from their hands. The streets were full of people. Holidays are to be continued...

Today is 12/01/2012 and I want to add some words about this holyday. Who is Reyes Magos ? It was the visitors who went to Bethlehem after the birth of Jesus of Nazareth to pay homage and bring him symbolic gifts: gold, frankinctnse and myrrh.  In Spain the children's Christmas gifts are traditionally brought by the Three Kings and not by Santa Claus on the night of 5th January. But if their behaviour was bad they will find coal instead of the presents.
